We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

John Oyhagaray: I have worked on a number of very complex software development projects over the past 15 years via the classic waterfall methodology developed by Dr. Harold Kertzner. I have also done several application development projects via Agile and it truly is a better methodology. We should all be grateful for the founders who helped make Agile a reality for all of us.
Kenneth Hargett: I have practiced the principles of agile software development since the end of the 90's,and there is no doubt in my mind that there is no better way to create a trusting, fruitful and lasting relationship between IT development and business organisations. Common goals, priorities and understanding, close cooperation and constant delivery of valuble results are the key to success.

Diego Andres Montoya Blandon: (NETHA Soluciones IT) Khwaja Moinuddin: Agile Methodology (with its origins in Lean) would help tremendously if adopted and implemented properly in any organization. All continuous improvement methodologies (including Agile) should be implemented in the right spirit and not as a publicity gimmick. Implementation of these methodologies should be done by practitioners who have truly understood them (and have dirtied theirs hands with it for several years) and not by imposters!

Change requests have always been a pain point in Waterfall model - Agile helps overcome this hurdle.
