We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

Davis Cardwell: This manifesto is based on ethical principles that in my opinion, provide an exemplary framework for software development. It is my hope that in time, similar principles are used to guide all human endeavor.
Benedict Kar Pin Khoo: Totally agree with the Agile Manifesto! Customer satisfaction should come first and the way to that is to closely collaborate with the customer. A lot of software ended up down the drain because the customer's requirements are not met.
