The Manifesto for Agile Software Development

We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

Joe Townsend: I am a big proponent of Agile Methodologies, waterfall does not work and has been the major reason for many large projects failing.

David Morton: (http://portfolio.dgrmm.net) Expectations change, and initial specs never survive. Why worry about hard specs or contracts; better to have open and frequent communication to deliver what the the customer needs, not what you thought they wanted at the start.

Beeing able to change the plan & way on every day, if necessary, gives us much more power. (And the devs like it...) So, Henderson is correct when says: "only running software is real"
